Margie Davis Freeman, 90, of Orangeburg, SC, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016, at the Methodist Oaks, where she had lived for 15 years.

Margie was born September 12, 1925, a daughter of the late Clyde Stewart Davis, Sr. and Nettie Whisenhunt Davis, of Neeses, SC.

She graduated from Neeses High School and Winthrop College, with a degree in Home Economics. She worked for the Clemson Extension Service in Marion County and later in Newberry County, where she met her husband, Charles Edwin Freeman. Later they moved to Greenbelt, Maryland and she retired from the University of Maryland. After retirement, Margie moved to Orangeburg. Margie was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, participating in many church activities. She also spent numerous hours volunteering at the Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include her nephew and three nieces, eight great nieces and nephews,
and many cousins.

Predeceased by her husband; two brothers, Clyde S. Davis, Jr. of Neeses and George W. Davis, Sr. of Florence.

Funeral Services: Monday, February 8, 2016, at the Nancy Freeman Stringer Memorial Chapel at The Oaks, Orangeburg,
