Mary Elizabeth Jarrard Allen, 91, died on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at a local nursing home.

A resident of the North Georgia area for most of her life she was a member of Ringgold First Baptist Church and a former employee of John's Coffee Shop in Ringgold for over ten years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Allen; parents, Thomas and Mary Cantrell Jarrard; daughter, Robbie Van Pelt; four brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Nell and James Penley, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., Tommie Hargraves, of LaFayette, Ga., Wanda and Richard Monds, of Hixson, and Mildred Frady, of Chattanooga; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Wilson funeral home chapel with the Rev. Herschel Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
