GLOUCESTER - Doris Robbins Sears, 82, of Gloucester, Va., passed away of February 1, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born in Gloucester, Va. on December 10, 1933. She graduated from Botetourt High School. Doris was married to Boyd Maxwell Sears on April 26, 1952; they were married 56 years before the passing of her husband. Doris worked as a private duty caregiver for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, she spent many hours in the kitchen baking her delicious pound cakes and canning her homemade Apple Butter. Doris is survived by her children: Marcia S. Clements (Donald), Michael F. Sears (Barbara), Karen S. Humphery, Kevin M. Sears (Lori), Sister; Hilda R. Taylor (BB), Grandchildren; Kelly Hamlin (Robbie), Stacy Clements, Amanda Clements, Celeste Roberts, Sergei Sears, Candice Hill, Ashley Soles, Amanda Pollard, Jessica Sears, Kayla Sears, Great-Grandchildren; Christopher, Joshua, Tanner, and other family and friends. Doris is preceded in death by Husband; Boyd M. (Mac) Sears, Parents: Joseph and Fannie Robbins, Sister; Janette R. Moody, JoAnn Robbins, Brothers: Clinton (Steven) Robbins and Joseph H. Robbins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2016 with an additional visitation period of 1pm-2pm prior to the service starting at 2;00 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory. Rev. Mike Gray of Newington Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Windsor Gardens Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, Va. Memorial donations may be Made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, Inc., PO Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061 in honor of Doris.
