"County suffers losses at Thanksgiving"-newspaper article by former Georgia Govenor, Marvin Griffin.

Over the Thanksgiving season our community sustained the loss of three of the most gracious ladies any community in the world of like size has ever possessed....
The second of these wonderful women to be called to her reward was Mrs. Hugh A. Williams, wife of centenarian, H. A. Williams, who reached the age of 100 last April 8th.
Miss Fannie, as she was affectionately called by scores of friends, was born Frances Singletary of Ochlocknee, GA, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. B. and Elizabeth Pittman Singletary. Her father owned and operated a sawmill. Miss Fannie married Mr. Williams in 1908, and this couple was inseparable until her death on Nov. 25th....
These great ladies all had these attributes in common. They were all Christian women. They were devoted to their churches. They were wonderful wives and mothers, and they were sensitive to the needs and problems of others. They conducted themselves throughout their lives in a way that made them beneficiaries of love and respect from all who knew them. They were natural leaders.
They cannot be replaced, but these three ladies will remain in our memories.
