Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Active pallbearers will be Larry Helle, Sherman Jurgens, Greg Pieschke and Bob Hallauer.
Darlene was born on July 29, 1933, in rural Clark County, SD, to Albert and Lily (Tolzien) Pieschke. She grew up on the family farm.
On July 8, 1955, Darlene married Marlin Adolphsen at Rauville, SD. They lived in Watertown, where she did babysitting along with raising her own children. She later went to work at Midtex for several years before retiring. After Marlin passed away on Dec. 3, 2000, Darlene continued to live in Watertown.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Darlene enjoyed sewing, gardening, embroidery, canning, baking and puzzles.
Darlene is survived by her children: Arlyn (Darla) Adolphsen of Watertown, SD, Darla Adolphsen of Springfield, MO, Sandra Waples of Springfield, MO, and Linda (Tim) Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren; four brothers: Harry Pieschke, Henry (Lucille) Pieschke, Darrell Pieschke and Earl (Caroline) Pieschke, all of Watertown, SD; and three sisters: Hazel Hallauer of Florence, SD, Grace Lohmiller of Custer, SD, and Janis (Raymond) Helle of Watertown, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Adolphsen; one grandson, Justin Adolphsen; her parents, Albert and Lily Pieschke; and two brothers, Donald Pieschke and Richard Pieschke.
