Grace shares a gravestone with her parents, Uriah and Diana Short, plus her sister Florence, brother-in-law Theodore Beagell, and their infant son Theron. She also has small marker with her first name to the right of the family stone.
Grace was married for a few years to William Orlando Tripp (son of Myron John Tripp and Sarah Frances Tyler) and they had a son John Uriah Tripp in 1904. This son was later adopted by Grace's parents Uriah and Diana Short, and renamed Uriah John Short.
William and Grace divorced, and William changed his last name to McDonald, married Luella Minverva Bice in 1909 and had children Irving, Marian, Mildred and Ray, in the Binghamton and Sidney areas of NY.
Grace went on to marry Clarance Cortwright from Richford on Feb. 9, 1912, according to the marriages book in the Tioga Co. Clerk's Office. She was widowed by the 1920 census, living back with her parents and son, then died in 1930 according to her tombstone.
If the reader knows more details of this lady, please contact me. Grace is my husband's great grandmother and we would enjoy learning more about her.
