John was born in Rush County on August 8, 1937 to the late Elmer Lee Bogue and Leota Belle (Ritter) Bogue Macy.
John was a 1955 graduate of Manilla High School. He graduated from the University of Indiana with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. John married Carolyn Elkins on April 1, 1956 and she survives.
John was a CPA by trade and worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1964-1994 as a Dairy Auditor. He was a past president of the Eagles Lodge # 76 and a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion in Shelbyville.
In addition to his wife Carolyn, John is survived by 4 sons, Mark Bogue and wife Angie of Shelby County, David Bogue and wife Diane of Waldron, Tim Bogue of Iowa and Michael Bogue of Shelbyville, 3 daughters, Kristi Paulsen of Indianapolis, Terri and husband Ray Bennett of Shelbyville, and Lisa and husband Jim Byrd of Lake Santee, Greensburg, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, a step-brother Max Crim and sister Marilyn Lightner.
Services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit from 11 AM to 1 PM that same day at the Mortuary.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
