Services for Billie Parker French, 86 of Tyler, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 in the chapel of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Rev. James McRight officiating. Burial will follow in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery. Billie was born September 7, 1929 in Paris, TX to the late Aaron and Ruby Stone Parker and passed away on February 1, 2016 in Tyler. She retired after 27 years as a teacher with Whitehouse Independent School District and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Ray French, in 1999. She is survived by her son, Jimmy French and wife, Michelle; two daughters, Sharon Poss and husband, Lynn and Patty Blankenship and husband, James; seven grandchildren, Jason Gilmer, Jennifer Ficke, Tara Mosley, Shelley Melton, Danica French and Drew French; nine great grandchildren; a best friend of 60 years, Mable Hill; and many cousins and other loving relatives. Pallbearers will be Jason Gilmer, Josh Gilmer, Will Melton, Drew French, Dale Wooley and Charles Tomlinson. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the funeral home.
