Henry V. Kominek, passed away July 18, 2014, beloved husband of Marjorie E. (nee Kuhrt); loving father of: Kurt W. (Eloise) Kominek, Karen (Charles) Maier, and Grant Kominek; devoted grandfather of: Jay Kominek, Byron Kominek, Eric Maier, and Katie Maier Ortmann. Hank was a WWII veteran and served 4 years in the Army Signal Corp. He earned both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering from Case Institute of Technology, and worked over 40 years in the steel industry. He was an honorary member of the Building Officials Code Administrators International, and retired as a Regional Director for the American Iron and Steel Institute at age 65. Hank was very active in his life as a long-time member and former Commander of the Evanston Power Squadron. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the 1st Presbyterian Church, 600 9th St., Wilmette. For info: Wm. H.
