Bobby Wayne Rodgers, 77, passed away on February 2, 2016. Bobby was born in Oklahoma City on January 27, 1939 to Vernon “Doc” and Willie Beatrice (Edwards) Rodgers. Bobby worked as a brick mason and painter. He played basketball and baseball as a high school student. He was a little league coach of baseball, football, and wrestling with the the Southside Chiefs in the 70's. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bobby is survived by 5 children, Lorie Rockwell, and husband Charles, Julie Johnson and husband Billy, Bobby Rodgers and wife Lisa N., Terry Rodgers and wife Lisa, and Garry Rodgers; 13 grandchildren, Audrey, Regina, Adam, Natasha, Amber, Ashley, Sarah, Samantha, David, Daniel, Ian, Megan and Michael; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 29 years, Genie Gales; parents; brother Howard; sister, Ruby; and grandson, Baby Jay. Funeral Services for Bobby will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 6, 2016, at the Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 E. Main St, Moore Ok. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, in Moore, OK.
