Billy Buck Chambers, age 47, passed away Tuesday following a brief illness.
Billy was born in Ft. Valley and was a 1986 graduate of Peach County High School. He furthered his education and in 1999, received his Computer Information Technology degree from Middle Georgia Technical College. Billy believed a good education was paramount and strived for his boys to receive the best education there was to offer. He was an intelligent man who had a great thirst for knowledge. Billy’s humor defined him and he never met a stranger. He has worked for Cox Communications for more than 16 years as a Technician.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Ruth Green; father, Bill Chambers; and his grandparents and “parents in love,” Sam and Laura Green.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Wendy Howell Chambers of Byron; his pride and joy- his two sons, Gage Chambers and Gavin Chambers, both of Crawford County; sisters and brother, Andrea Chambers Morton (Ron) of Sumter, South Carolina, Laura Chambers Gallagher of Dacula, and Tom Chambers (Jane) of Victoria, Australia; aunts, Sammie Green Moss of Byron and Beth Barkley (Albert) of Sumter, South Carolina; “parents in love”, Hoyt and Betty King of Byron, and Robert and Cindi Green of Macon; four nieces and four nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 P.M. Saturday at Crest Lawn.
A Celebration of Billy’s life will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday in the Chapel of Crest Lawn. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where Billy will be buried at the feet of his loving grandparents.
