Melvin Bert Shomaker Sr. 65, of Desoto, Mo. died Nov. 2, 1998, at his residence. Mr. Shomaker worked for Engel Industries in St. Louis, Mo. until his retirement. Born June 30, 1933, in Fremont, Mo. he was the son of the late Bert and Mabel (Fox) Shomaker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alline (Polston) Shomaker, by a sister, Billie Marie Wilfong, and by a Stepson. He is survived by four daughters; Linda Sue "Susie" (husband Charlie)Fowler of St. Louis, Brenda Diane (husband Raymond) Merseal of Desoto, Sandy Allen of St. Louis, County, and Mabel Shomaker of Desoto, two sons, Melvin B. (wife Sandy) Shomaker II of Desoto and Danny Edward (wife Melinda) Shomaker of Fenton Mo; six step children: Carol Curtis, Kim Martin, Butch Jacobs, Lindze Johnston, Johnnie McClellan and Cathy Mickle; two brothers: Edward Shomaker of Las Vegas, Nevada and John Shomaker of St. Clair, Mo; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services are at 10am today (No 5) at Dietrich-Mothershead Chapel in Desoto, officiated by the Rev. Charlie Fowler. Burial is in the Wilderness Cemetery in Wilderness, Mo.
