Charles Henry Holster, a life-long resident of San Angelo, Texas, died unexpectedly on April 27, 2015, at his home at the age of 77.

Charles retired from Lone Star Gas Company, where he made numerous friends and worked for many years.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William Holster and Annie Lois Pickett Holster; and by one sister, Anna Stephe Nafus.

Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Holster; his children, Cyndi Owen and husband Kevin and Terri Welch and husband Dwayne, all of San Angelo; grandchildren Matt Owen and wife Jenny, MaKenzie Catlett and husband Richie, Morgan Jones and husband Jacob, Lexee Halsmith and husband Mike and Chase Welch and wife Ashton; three great-grandchildren, Reece Everly Halsmith, Ryker Daly Catlett and Tate Duane Jones. Charles is also survived by one sister, Billie Haviland.

Charles was born Feb. 23, 1938, in San Angelo, Texas. He graduated from Lake View High School in 1956, and married Mary Ann Glover on June 21, 1958. They welcomed their two beloved daughters in 1960 and 1962. His family was the most important part of his life.

Charles was a devoted father and avid horseman. He enjoyed watching his daughters participate in play days in their early years and remained dedicated to his horses throughout their life. He also loved following his grandchildren to all of their sporting events. He could always be seen in the bleachers cheering them on. Our "PawPaw" will be deeply missed.

Visitation was held Wednesday, April 29, at Johnson's Funeral Home and graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today, April 30t, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
