Mrs. ANNA NICODEMUS RUPLEY, a former resident of Middletown, this county, died Sunday morning, December 21, at the home of her son, Rev. Dr. Frederick A. Rupley, Lewistown, Pa. She was 98 years old on December 18, and her death was due to infirmities of advanced age. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary A. Nicodemus and was born at Clover Creek, between Martinsburg and Henrietta, Pa., in what is now Blair county.

She married Rev. Dr. Frederick A. Rupley, Sr., who died while he was pastor of the Middletown Reformed church.

Surviving her are two sons, Rev. Dr. Rupley, pastor of Trinity Reformed church, Lewistown; and Theodore N. Rupley, Ieokuk, Iowa; daughter, Mrs. Sarah Shaffer, Pittsburgh, Pa.; one brother, John H. Nicodemus; and one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Royer, both of Martinsburg, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held in the Christ Reformed Church; she was buried beside her husband in the Reformed church cemetery, Middletown.
