Marilyn J. Smith-McCoy, 80, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 3, 2016 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Mann-Hare-Hoening funeral home in Fostoria.

Marilyn J. Smith-McCoy, 80, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 3, 2016, at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria with her family by her side, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

She was born Jan. 6, 1936, in Longley, to the late William V. and Esther M. (Keiffer) Holman.

She married Jack E. Smith in August 1955, and he preceded her in death in February 2013. She then married Donald McCoy in December 1988, and he also preceded her in death November 2006.

Surviving are two sons, Eric (Donna) Smith and Aaron (Donene) Smith; a daughter, Kimberly (Steven) Dandurand; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six brothers, Wayne Holman, Wendell (Sue) Holman, Gayle (Mary) Holman, Gerald (Barb) Holman, Roger (Kathy) Holman and Dennis (Lisa) Holman; and two sisters, Doris Bise and Margaret (Steve) Whitman.

Marilyn was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where she participated in choir and bell choir. She was a 1954 Jackson Liberty High School graduate and went on to receive her associate's degree in business administration from Tiffin University. She was an administrator for Edgewood Manor, now St. Catherine's Care Center, in Fostoria.

Marilyn loved to learn, she had varied interests and pursued them all. Along with sewing, she also enjoyed cooking and was known for her pizza, Esther soup and cheese balls. Always the hostess, always dressed professionally and fully accessorized, Marilyn was the glue that kept her family together. Her family meant everything to her and she would do anything for them.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria. Her Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m., Fr. Christopher Mileski, celebrant. Private interment will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.
