Mrs. Carson was born April 1, 1920 in the Bold Spring Community of Franklin County the daughter of the late William Lafayette Parks and Sidnie Vickery Parks. She was the widow of the late Ralph Bruce Carson.

The last member of her immediate family, she was the sister of the late Peggy Carter, Cecil Neal Parks, Joe Lambert Parks, and Mary Will Nalley.

She taught school in Franklin County for 22 years at Canon, Bold Spring, Red Hill, and Carnesville Schools. She was a member of the Franklin County Retired Teachers Association and lifetime member of Bold Spring United Methodist Church.
