Louis Edward Boyd age 71, arrived at his heavenly home on Sunday, January 31, 2016.

He was born on May 4, 1944 in Tylertown Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Parker Boyd; his mother, Lexie Viola Martin Boyd, and his brother, J. C. Boyd of Tylertown Mississippi.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Bowena "Ann" Grubbs Boyd; son, Randall C. Dever (Jennifer); granddaughter, Roxanne Gilmore (John); great granddaughter Jeanette Anne Wheeler, granddaughters, Megan Danielle Laux (Chris) and Makenzie Martinez; three brothers, Alton Buel Boyd (Polly), Joe Henry Boyd, and Glyn Parker Boyd (Amanda) ; brothers-in law, Horace W. Grubbs (Carol), Milton L. Grubbs (Carol) D. C. Grubbs; sister-in law, Clara Grubbs Wright (Thomas) and many nieces and nephews.

Louis earned a bachelor of education degree from Southern Mississippi University and worked as a teacher before going into steel construction with Landis Construction. He retired from Leonard Hebert Construction Company. He was a member and past president of Creole Chapter #43 of NAWCC (National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors) he also, was a member of MBSI (Musical Box Society International). Louis collected, repaired and restored antique Clocks, Phonographs and Music Boxes. He was also, an avid fisherman and spent many days on the water fishing and enjoying the quiet and peacefulness of the river and bayous. He was a very special person and was loved by many.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Leitz Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Thursday, February 4, 2016 beginning at 8:30 AM with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home's chapel. Following the service at Leitz-Eagan, there will be a service at Salem Baptist Church, 886 Highway 27N in Tylertown Mississippi on Thursday February 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM with burial in the Boyd Cemetery in Tylertown, MS.
