Edith “Granny” Allison Ramsey, 91 of Hamshire, Texas, passed away on February 1, 2016. She was born November 10, 1924, in Leesville, Louisiana, to Edmond and Jesse Lee Allison. She graduated from Leesville High School in 1941.
A very active person, she loved flowers, gardening, and mowing grass. Her specialty was homemade yeast rolls.
Edith was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Earhart; parents, Edmond and Jesse Lee Allison; brothers, Thurman, Harman, and Arnold Allison; and sister, Eva Grant.
She is survived by her son, Ray Ramsey & wife Ruby of Hamshire; brother, Alton Allison & wife Theda of Iowa, Louisiana; granddaughters, Kerri Loiacano & husband Shawn, Amy Going & husband Richard; grandson, Rex Ramsey; and 4 great-grandchildren, Brooke and Cash Loiacano, Patrick Going, and Chance Ramsey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to give special thanks to Altus Hospice, Heart to Heart Hospice, Ruthie Lewis, Frankie Elliot, and Geraldine Malveaux.
