Mrs. Nichols was born October 1, 1924, to the late John T. and Bertha Harden Harrison in Phenix City, Ala. She spent her life dedicated to God, family and the Phenix City community. The family was a large part of Porter Memorial Baptist church for many years, her husband, Bill, serving as choir director and Sara singing alto in the choir. She served the Phenix City Board of Education in numerous rolls covering daily contact with students to handling payroll for many years. Many of her "office girls" were invited home for sleep overs through those years. Travel and camping were often part of family life. A great memory, after retirement, included an extended trip out west to visit family with Sara as navigator.
