GREENSBORO Hubert Daniel Robertson, 81, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2016, from Carriage House.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Rolling Roads Baptist Church in Greensboro. Family will receive friends following the service in the sanctuary. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on February 4, 2016 at Danville Memorial Gardens at 510 Church Ave., Danville, VA, 24541.Hubert was born September 17, 1934 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late Daniel and Gladys Robertson. He was a member of Rolling Roads Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served on various church committees. He retired from Big Star Foods after 30 years of employment, was self-employed for two years, worked for B&W Auto Parts for two years, and worked in maintenance for Masonic Home and Eastern Star for about ten years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Robertson Grubb.Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Peggy Peters Robertson of the home; son, Hubert "Daniel" Robertson, Jr. and his wife Allison of Wake Forest and their sons, Gavin and Noah; daughter, Melissa Pegram and her husband Shannon of Winston-Salem and their children, William, Dillon, and Lori; sister, Dorothy Jarrell of Danville, VA; 1 niece; and 1 nephew.The family would like to thank the staff of Carriage House and Bright Star for their care and support.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel has the honor of assisting the Robertson family.Online condolences may be made at www.haneslineberryfuneralhomes.com.
