George Seymour Peacock, 78, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

George was born in Wayne County, NC on March 2, 1937 to the late James Clifton Peacock, Jr. and Thelma Seymour Peacock. He was married to the late Linda Wiggins Peacock. George had worked as a radio design engineer and later worked in electronic sales. He was a member of the Wayne County Amateur Radio Society. In his early years, George served in the Army National Guard. He was a fifty year member and Past Master of Millbrook Lodge 97 A.F. & A.M. George was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

A graveside service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Willow Dale Cemetery with Rev. Michele Clark officiating.

George is survived by his daughter, Amy P. Samosky and husband, Paul, of Asheville; sons, George Kelvin Peacock and wife, Sue, of Goldsboro, and James Lynn Peacock of Raleigh; and his grandchildren, Allison Peacock and husband Simon Weschle, Molly Peacock and fiancé Cullen Knott, Lisa Peacock, and Davis Peacock.

In addition to his wife and parents, George was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nora Rae Perry.
