HUNTSVILLE — Carol Tubbleville died quietly in her home on June 16, 2014. She was born in Littlefield, Texas on July 22, 1934 to parents Chester Martin and Jessye Margaret Bilderback. The family moved to El Paso, Texas when she was four years old. She graduated from Ysleta High School and attended Texas Western College (later known as University of Texas at El Paso) where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Carol then taught school for four years at Ysleta Grade School.

Carol met and married Capt. Bill Tubbleville, becoming a proud army wife who lived and traveled all over the United States, Germany, and Korea. She held a number of offices in the Officers' Wives Clubs.

When husband Bill retired to Huntsville, Texas, Carol became active in the HISD PTA and the Band Booster Club. She served as secretary, treasurer, 1st Vice President, and President of the Huntsville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered for many years.

Carol enjoyed ceramics, needle crafts, bowling, and played in several bridge clubs, one of which she joined in 1971 and the club is still active today.

Preceding Carol in death are her husband Col. B. C. Tubbleville; parents Chester and Jessye Bilderback; mother and father-in-law Coye and Eunice Tubbleville; and sister Norma Smith. Left to cherish her memory are son David Brent Tubbleville and grandson Cory Brent Tubbleville, both of Huntsville; daughter Anita Margaret Ramsey of Waco, Texas; brother-in-law Donald Ray Tubbleville and wife Helen of Midland, Texas; special friends of over 60 years Anita Goodrich Harvey of Artesia, New Mexico; Pat Turner McDonald of San Bernardino, CA; Dorothy Scott Kelly of Tishomingo, OK; Bernadette Wegener Bartell of Lander, WY; Gladys O'Dell Harris of El Paso, TX; and Rayma O'Dell Angelos of El Paso, TX.

Services will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Monday, June 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Donations to Wounded Warriors or the charity of your choice will be appreciated.
