Mary Belle "Polly" Phillips, widow of J. Olcott "Ockie" Phillips Sr., passed away peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning, Jan. 30, 2016.
The only daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Ernest Chilton Sr., she was born on Dec. 12, 1920, in Fort Worth where she spent her life. She married Ockie Phillips in 1942 and had four children, Dutch, Andy, Bill and Mary Long. Known for her elegance, kindness and dedicated service to her community and family, Polly was a passionate supporter of the arts and numerous charitable organizations, as well as a devoted member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
Polly was preceded in death by her sons, Andrew Chilton Phillips and James O. "Dutch" Phillips Jr. and her devoted husband, J. Olcott Phillips Sr.
Survivors: Son, William Atlee "Bill" Phillips and wife, Glynda, and his daughters, Sarah Louise Aubyn Philips and Hannah-Marie Noble Farley and her husband, Shannon; daughter, Mary Long Phillips and wife, Donna Thomas and their son, William Olcott Phillips; daughter-in-law, Mary Frances Phillips and her daughter by Dutch Phillips, Atlee Marie Phillips; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
