Kevin Eugene Pope was born August 24, 1960 in Denison, IA the son of Jack and Betty Baker Pope. He died Thursday, July 22, 2004 in Sac County Iowa at the age of forty-three.
Kevin was baptized on January 15, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, IA and confirmed on December 2, 1973 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Kiron, IA. He began his school at the Kiron Public Schools and graduated from Denison High School with the Class of 1978.
He was united in marriage to Shelly Snider on June 12, 1982 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Kiron. They were blessed with three sons, Jason, Justin, and Jeremy. After their marriage Kevin and Shelly owned and operated Pope Livestock for a number of years. At the time of his death, Kevin worked for Ullrich Farms of Kiron.
Kevin was a fun loving husband, father, and son. He worked hard, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a friend to everyone he met. He especially enjoyed going to Grandma Baker's to help her do odd jobs.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Kenny Snider; Grandparents Vernie Baker and James and Helen Pope. He is survived by his wife, Shelly, three sons, Jason, Justin, and Jeremy. His mother, Betty Pope; his father, Jack Pope. His Grandmother, Lula Baker. One brother, Keith "Shorty" Pope, two sisters, Kathy Pope and Kristy Munden. Three nephews, Derrick Boger, Jordan Poldberg, Dustin Pope, and one niece, Taylor Munden.
