LLOYD REEDER, 74, Littleton, Colo., will be at 9:30 a.m. Sept 22 at Centennial Lutheran Church, 3595 W. Belleview, Englewood, Colo.
Mr. Reeder died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006.
Burial will be in Fort Logan Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Cache, Okla., to Carl and Rita Reeder. He graduated from Caldwell High School, Caldwell, Kan., in 1950 and from Oklahoma State University in 1954 with a degree in science of agriculture. He married Ruth Ann Williams on Jan. 17, 1953. He joined the Air Force after graduation. He completed pilot training in 1956. He completed his master's degree in business administration from the University of Missouri in 1968. He was mission training coordinator for Apollo 11 and 13. He flew C-121s over Cuba during the Cuban missile crisis and from Korat, Thailand, during the Vietnam War. His final command was as chief of the NORAD Space and Missile Intelligence Center. He retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel in 1976. He was employed by Lockheed Martin from 1976 to 1995, where he worked on space defense command and control systems as mission manager for the Mil-Star Communications Satellite. He was a woodworker and built many sconces, rolling pins, display shelves, bookcases, and furniture for many friends and relatives.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ruth Ellen White and Susan Poos, both of Littleton; two sons, Lloyd R. Reeder, Plano, Texas, and Michael Reeder, Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Beran, Wichita, Kan., and Edith Lightfoot, Parsons, Kan.; three sisters-in-law, Carole Reeder, Wichita, Kan., Gweneth West, Caldwell, Kan., and Janie Harvey, Hilliard, Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Tommy Williams, Littleton, and Randy Williams and his wife Linda, Peoria, Ill.; an uncle, Rudie Janzen, Bartlesville; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.
