Wayne Lowe, age 87, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at his residence. He was born on December 18, 1924 to the late Noah and Lura Lowe. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Becky Rogers.

Wayne was an avid farmer and following his retirement from tool and die production, he continued farming for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors greatly, especially gardening and watching the animals. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the United States Army, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Wayne was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 67 years, Loretta Lowe; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Eddie Reece of Elk Park, NC, Debbie and Don Tedder of Bristol, TN and Tammy Lowe of Bristol, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Peggy Lowe of Jefferson County, TN, Howard and Linda Lowe, also of Jefferson County, TN, Don and Leslie Lowe of Bristol, TN and Chad and Molly Lowe of Allen, TX; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry McCoury and Rev. Ralph Howard officiating.

Graveside service and interment with military honors was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 from the Lowe Cemetery and was accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers were Chad Lowe, Chris Lowe, Donnie Lowe, Tommy Reece, David Tedder and Jonathan Tedder. Honorary pallbearers were Allen Rogers, Tim Eggers, Dr. Ahmed Kahn and Dr. Floyd Barker.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Staff of Johnson County Home Health for all of their kindness and care.
