Margaret was born March 21, 1925 at Porter, OK, the daughter of Ernest and Nellie Adams and died Sunday, January 31, 2016 in Muskogee. On June 18, 1945 she married Ross C. Byrd Jr. and they shared 62 years together. She was a loving and devoted caregiver to her son, Jack, of the home and her mother-in-law, uncle, and husband. Prior to retirement, she had worked at Griffins, Cagles Flower Shop, and flipped a mean burger at Purity Drug Store.

Margaret enjoyed playing bingo and yahtzee with her two special great-grandchildren, “Bright eyes” Breanna Wolfe and “Big Boy” Trenton Bean, sewing, embroidery, crafts, and working her word search puzzles.

She is survived by her, sons, Jack Byrd and grandson, Jay Armer of the home, Ross C. Byrd III (Linda) of Muskogee; daughters, Margaret Rhea of Dallas, TX, Nellie Harmon (Bruce) of Wagoner, OK; eight grandchildren, William Rhea, Shellie Rhea, Scott Byrd, Eric Byrd (Cristy), Brandi Mocha (Nick), Jay Armer, Trina Bean (Glen), Tammy Armer (Terry), and James Armer; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Garrett; brother, Ernest Adams (Pat); several nephews, nieces, and friends. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Ross C. Byrd Jr.; and two sisters, Lola Tedder and Cleta Giles.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roger Pratt officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Scott Byrd, Eric Byrd, James Armer, Jay Armer, and great-grandsons: Blake Byrd, and Dalton Byrd. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Harmon, Glen Bean, Trenton Bean, Nick Mocha, Ross Byrd III, and Jack Byrd. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK.
