"Lincolnville, March 4 - Mrs William Mays died at her home, about two miles west of this place, this morning of pneumonia, following an illness of four days. Deceased was sixty-nine years of age and before her marriage was Miss Nancy Brown (sic) [Benn]. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs Charles Kelley of Cambridge Springs and four sons, George and Samuel residing in California, Roy of Union City, and Ben at home. Her husband preceded her to the grave seven years ago. Mrs Mays was a member of the U B church. The time and place of the funeral have not yet been arranged."
