LEWISPORT -- Lucy Smeathers Lawson, 91, of Lewisport died Thursday, March 4 2004 at the home of her daughter. She was born April 18 1912 Daviess Co, daughter of the late Hilary and Ophelia (Edwards) Smeathers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisport, Lewisport Senior Citizens, the Hancock County Retired Teachers Association. She was a retired teacher taught 33 years in Hancock Co Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Sage Lawson, 2 sisters, Ozetta White, Nina Lee Smeathers; brother Junius Warren Smeathers. Survivors include daughter, Ann Sage Lawson Evans Lewisport; 2 grandsons, Russell Samuel Evans, Gavin Lee Evans Lewisport. Services 2pm Sun Mar 7 2004 Lewisport United Methodist Church Rev. Curtis Barnes, Rev. Vic Morris officiating. Burial in Lewisport Cem. Visitation after 5pm from 8am-12:30pm Sun Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home Lewisport.
