Jeanie was born 1939 in Dexter City to John and Veronica (Fogle) Saling. After graduating from Dexter City High School, she went on to graduate from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1960 with her Registered Nursing Degree. She was employed as a registered nurse for Summit Acres for over 30 years, caring for her friends and neighbors.
One of her true passions was working in her garden, followed by canning the products of her gardening. Her family will always remember her as a truly humble person who set a great example for them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, and her husband, Stanford McElroy who passed away in 2012. They had been married 52 years and are now reunited.
