Ruth Angelus Niksch-Vestal, age 93, of Hobart passed away Sunday January 31, 2016 at the Chicagoland Christian Village in Crown Point.

Ruth was born November 10, 1922 in Hobart, Indiana to the late Albert and Elvera (Blank) Nagel.

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was totally dedicated to the welfare of her family. Ruth enjoyed collecting angels and playing BINGO.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the church’s Ladies Auxiliary. Ruth was a former member of the Deep River Volunteer Fire Department’s Auxiliary.

Ruth is survived by five children Donna D. Douglass of Durham, NC, Richard A. (Marilyn) Niksch of St. Lois, MO, Douglas D. (Beverly) Niksch of Lowell, Roger W. (Bonnie) Niksch of Hobart and Diane R. (Rod) Gardin of Valparaiso; her grandchildren Jennifer (Woodrow) Hartzog, Kathryn (James) Walker, Steven (Sharlene) Douglass, Suzyn (Elliot) Everhard, Paul Niksch, Bryan (Carol) Niksch, Beth Ann Niksch, Dana Niksch, Pamela (Scott) Abraham, Daniel Niksch, Bradley Gardin, Nicholas Gardin and Amanda Gardin; her great grandchildren Will, Romy, Jocelyn, Leo, Macey, Jenna, Lola, Henry, Charlie, James, Hunter, Peyton, Shauna, Zander, Tyson, Parker and Noelle; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Donald E. Niksch and Eugene Vestal, her son Ronald Niksch, her brother Quinton Nagel and sister Muriel Guest.
