Vicki Lynn Paddock Edney
January 14, 1952 ~ January 6, 2016

Vicki Lynn Paddock was born January 14th, 1952 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon to Charles Robert "Bob" and Darlene Paddock.

Vicki fought a life-long battle with diabetes. She passed away on January 6, 2016 from its complications, including being bed-ridden for the last seven years of her life.

She received her education in Eugene, including attending George Washington Elementary School, James Monroe Junior High, and graduating from Henry D. Sheldon High School in 1970. While in high school, she sewed her own mini-dresses with her grandmother's help because the 1960's fashion model "Twiggy" had one and no store in Eugene carried them yet.

Vicki was a child of nature, having grown up around her grandfather's business in Springfield, Paddock & Bauer Nursery. She worked there, on and off, as a child and as a young woman. She learned how nature works and loved its artistry. Vicki also worked at Reed and Cross, and finished her career as a buyer for their store. She attended buyer's markets around the country, bringing back incredible finds.

Vicki's loves included family, flowers, plants, and gardening. She was an avid reader of books, magazines and the Eugene Register-Guard newspaper. She enjoyed travel, fashion, the Oscars and Emmys, music, art, history, and dragon flies. In her younger years she enjoyed fly fishing. Vicki loved movies of all kinds. She also loved anything raspberry or raspberry-flavored because of the Edney family's fresh raspberries.

Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Bob Paddock; father-in-law Vernon Edney; grandfather Wade Paddock; great-grandmother Bessie Paddock; grandmother Hazelle Mitchell; aunts Marlene Kitajchuk and Edie Frentress, and uncles Carl Bauer and James Wearin.

Vicki was survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Dan Edney; and by their cherished son, Jesse Daniel Edney; her mother and stepfather, Darlene and Lawrence Callahan; her mother-in-law, Norma "Bunny" Edney; her brother Kevin Paddock and his wife Toni. She was also survived by her nephew Kallen Paddock and her niece, Taylor Paddock; her dear friends Barb Atchley and Debbie Lloyd-Walz; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
