Son of Wilbert B. Lancaster and Christie P. Lancaster, of Rodney. His brother Flying Officer Hector Beattie Lancaster was killed on July 10, 1943 and is buried at Reichswald Forest War Cemetery in Germany.

Commemorated on page 35 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance. He is named on the Cenotaph at Rodney, Ontario. There is a Tribute to him on the Roll Call of Honour website.
