NATALIE DAVIS
Oct 7, 1940 - June 22, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY/ PORTLAND, OR Natalie passed on in Portland, Oregon, surrounded by love, on Sunday, June 22. She will be missed, but her memories will always be with us. Natalie was a kind, intelligent, beautiful, and strong woman. She was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Gilbert and Mabel Pollock. She was raised and educated in Oklahoma, but her sense of adventure led her to move to Alaska with her husband in the late '60s, where she joined her best friends and had her three children. She returned to Oklahoma in 1976, living in Choctaw before settling in Oklahoma City in 2006. She moved to Portland, Oregon, December 2013 to be close to her children and grandchildren. Natalie was committed to serving others. She worked for the state of Oklahoma, was elected President of the Choctaw-Nicoma Park School Board, served on local Choctaw city committees and volunteered with the library and several organizations. After an early retirement from the state, she went on to earn her master's degree in social work and became a Licensed Professional Counselor for several years. Her sense of adventure and yearning of knowledge was expressed through a love of travel all over the U.S., its territories and the world - including Mexico, Aruba, Russia and Eastern Europe, and Machu Picchu, Peru. Natalie enjoyed reading, art, music, her coffee, and spending time with friends and family. She lived life to the fullest, loved unconditionally, and was loved and admired by all who knew her. Her brother, John Pollock; and her children, Jason, Mariah, and Celeste; as well as her grandchildren survive her in immediate family. Her spirit will remain with us forever. In memory of Natalie, the family asks that you be kind and love each other. An event to celebrate her life will be held in Oklahoma City later this fall.

Obituary

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow,
but remember me in every tomorrow.
Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles,
I've only gone to rest a little while.

Although my leaving causes pain and grief,
my going has eased my hurt,
and given me relief.

So dry your eyes and remember me,
not as I am now, but as I used to be.
Because, I will remember you all,
and look on with a smile.
Understand in your hearts,
I've only gone to rest a little while.

As long as I have the love of each of you,
I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.
