"Jill M. King, 46, of Scott Twp., passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, surrounded by her loving family, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, after a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of Jeff King. The couple had been married for 16 years. Born in Scranton, daughter of Francis and Mary Ann Volpe Cunion, she was a 1987 graduate of Mid Valley High School and a member of S.S. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Olyphant.
She was a graduate of Keystone College in La Plume, earning an associate degree in business and was a graduate of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, where she earned her bachelor degree in business administration and marketing.
Prior to her passing, she was employed as an administrative clerk for Verizon Corp. in Scranton. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and daughter who enjoyed life to the fullest and touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
In addition to her husband Jeff, she is survived by her son Justin, at home; her sister Jacqueline and husband Robert Hunt of Scott Twp.; her father Francis and wife Barbara Cunion of Clarks Summit; her mother Mary Ann Cunion of Scranton; her niece and Godchild, Julianne Hunt of Scott Twp.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral will be Saturday morning at 9:30a.m. from the John J. Turko & Sons Funeral Home, 402 Boulevard Ave., Dickson City, with Divine Liturgy at 10:00a.m. in S.S. Cyril & Methodius Church, River St., Olyphant, to be celebrated by Rev. Nestor Iwasiw, Pastor. Interment, parish cemetery, Peckville.
Friends may call Friday (today) from 4:00 until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a Parastas service at 6:00p.m. with responses sung by the St. Cyril Choir.
