Lucille M. Bender, age 92, of Columbus died Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
Interment: St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery, Columbus NE.
Lucille was born April 25, 1923 to Charles and Hattie (Daniels) Fischer. She attended school at Cornlea, On January 25, 1943, she married Edwin A. Bender at Camp Davis, North Carolina where Edwin was stationed. She worked at D & L and later as a personal house cleaner. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and needlework.
Surviving are son Dean J. (Peggy), Bradenton Florida, daughter Lois (John) Appuhn of Omaha and daughter-in-law Linda of Columbus, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Shirley Fischer.
Preceded in death are her parents, husband Edwin; son Marvin, daughter Peggy; sisters Louise Ternus, Hattie Melcher, Ruth Ternus, Leona Nichols, Lillian Ternus; brothers Chris, Calvin, Ed, John, George, Alvin and LeRoy.
