Sandra Faye Champion, age 78 resident of Kings Mountain, NC passed away January 29, 2016 at the Testa Family Hospice House, Kings Mountain, NC. She was born on January 5, 1938 to the late Clayton Hudson Hoyle and Margaret Champion Hoyle. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Van Richard Hoyle. Sandra graduated from Waco High School in 1956, from Gardner-Webb College in 1958 and from Limestone College, Gaffney, SC in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. Sandra taught kindergarten and first grade for 35 years, most of that time teaching at Marion Elementary School, Shelby, NC. Sandra was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church where she was a faithful member for many years. She was involved in several professional organizations including AAUW, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, NC Retired Teachers Association, and PEO. After retirement she enjoyed extensive travel and time spent with friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Beulah United Methodist Church, 1534 Stony Point Road, Shelby, NC Monday, February 1, 2016 11:00 A.M.

VISITATION: 10:30 – 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 1, 2016 prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church.

INTERMENT: Beulah United Methodist Church Cemetery, Shelby, North Carolina
