WESTBROOK - Gabrielle M. Murray, 99, of Arlington Ave., Westbrook, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at the Cedars in Portland.
She was born in Westbrook, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Chaisson) Bellefeuille. Gabrielle attended St. Hyacinth School and worked at the Dana Warp Mill before marrying George Murray in 1937.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Westbrook. She was a devoted wife and mother. In her later years she enjoyed taking trips with the Senior Citizens.
Gabrielle was predeceased by her husband George in 1982, as well as her brothers Wilfred and Raymond Bellefeuille, and sisters Jeannette Sicard and Eleanor Hinckel.
She is survived by a daughter, Sister Priscilla Murray of the Sisters of Mercy, Portland; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff and volunteers at the Cedars for excellent care they provided to Gabrielle.
Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1, at St. Hyacinth Church (St. Anthony's Parish). Spring burial will take place in St. Hyacinth Cemetery on April 28th.
