Holly Eve Keyl-Jones, 49, Capron IL. After almost a three year battle with lung cancer, our Lord and Savior decided the fight went on long enough and called our Holly home to be with Him on January 22, 2016. She slipped away peacefully with her family by her side.
Born in Elgin, IL, December 26, 1966, to Richard and Janet Jones, Patch Grove WI. Holly was blessed to have Jan rarely leave her side.
She is survived by her former husband and best friend, Michael D. Keyl, Capron, IL; two sons who rocked her world, Ryan (Lindsay) Whiteaker, Hingham, MA, Michael Joseph Keyl, Capron, IL; and now happily reunited with one heavenly son, Dillon Richard Keyl who passed away in May 1997. She was the middle child of six surviving siblings, Jeannie (Tom) LaBelle, Marengo, IL, Todd (Amy) Jones, Poplar Grove, IL, Todd became not only Holly's hero, but also the family rock as he steadfastly and compassionately cared for his sister. Timothy Jones, Madison, WI, Tina (Hugh "Mac") McNally, Redding, CT, Daniel Jones, McHenry, IL.
Her brother, Kris Jones passed away in October 2015. Also proceeding her in death are paternal grandparents, Art and Margaret (Lull) Neises; and maternal grandparents, Elmer and Ava Matousek.
She will be greatly missed by numerous aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins including Julie, who was her steady arm to lean on while receiving treatment in Tulsa.
Holly attended grade school in Woodstock, IL, and High School in Prairie du Chien and Patch Grove WI. While living in California she went back to school and received an associate degree to become a Medical Assistant. After relocating back to Woodstock to be near her family, Holly worked for Sheltered Village in Woodstock for 13 years as a Direct Service Provider. Holly loved all the residents and they all loved her. She cared and fought for them with her whole heart and was an incredible advocate for them. When Holly's world got chaotic, her favorite place to be was "on the river" in Prairie du Chien where she enjoyed camping with family and friends. She was a dedicated Harley rider and rode every chance she got. One of her most favorite trips being the Tennessee ride she and Mike took together. Holly's courageous battle was not fought alone. Her infectious smile and HUGE heart won this "Steel Cowgirl" many compassionate and caring friends who stayed by her side and encouraged her with support and prayers. The most vigilant being her very special friend, Melissa Rath. In her final days, her house was a constant flow of family and friends who came to visit and take care of her. A testimony to how much love she generated in the world.
There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday, February 27th, 11:00 to 3:00 pm The Waverly Ballroom above The Pour House, 214 Main St. Woodstock, IL, entrance on Benton St. Please join us while we commemorate and share stories about this amazing mother, daughter, sister, friend. A summer tribute and motorcycle ride to Prairie du Chien, WI is being planned for the weekend of June 25th with a spreading of ashes ceremony atop her favorite spot on the Mississippi River where she always felt at peace.
