Arthur J. Stahl, 79, of W3373 Co. Hwy MM, Elkhart Lake, (Town of Herman), died peacefully Friday morning, January 29, 2016 at his home. He was born August 11, 1936, son of the late Clarence & Loretta (Baumgartner) Stahl. Art attended New Holstein High School and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country from 1956-1958. On September 29, 1962 he married Janice Schuler at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel. Art worked at Kohler Company for 42 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill and the Quarter Century Club, Kohler. Art kept busy taking care of his home and gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Art and Janice especially liked to travel and go dancing. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janice, four children; Kim (Patrick) Grusznski, Mark Stahl, Troy (Debora) Stahl, Keri Stahl, grandchildren; Riley & Bryce Stahl, step grandchildren; Tony (Glynnis) Shircel, Katie (Jeremy) Noggle, Leo (Emily) Shircel, Sam (Olivia) Shircel, Dan Shircel and step great grandchildren; Will, Maggie, Rosemary & Addy. He is further survived by his sisters, Mary Ann (Curtis) Kramer, Dorothy (Donald) Henschel and in-laws; Marvin Gries (Laverne) and Marilyn (Mike) Steffen. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Darlene Gries, one brother, Elroy Stahl, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert & Marcella Schuler and brother-in-law, Bernie Schuler. The funeral Mass for Art will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, (11928 Marken Road, School Hill) with Fr. Patrick Nelson, S.D.S. officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, (815 6th St., Kiel) on Monday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 am until 10:45 am when brief family rites will take place. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
