She is preceded in death by her husband Francis (Frank) Gilbert, her parents Charles and Marie Charpentier, her sisters Irene Gilligan, Helen Blanchette, Yvonne Roy, Paula Stiner, brothers George and Eddie Charpentier, and her great grand-daughter Teegan Gilbert. Evelyn was born on September 10, 1926 in Manchester, New Hampshire. She graduated from Notre Dame de Lourdes School of Nursing in 1948 and worked for the US Cadet Nurse Corps. She married Francis (Frank) Gilbert on March 31, 1951. They lived in Boston, MA while Frank completed his medical degree, where they had their first two sons. They moved to Norfolk, VA where Frank served as a a commissioned Lieutenant in the US Navy and they had their other children. Evelyn and Frank became members of the Baha'i Faith in the 1960's and left Wisconsin in 1987 to serve as Baha'i pioneers, teaching their Faith and providing medical care on the Island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands, BWI. They served there until Frank's passing on February 1, 1996. Evelyn returned to Wisconsin for two years with her son and his family. She then re-settled in Evergreen, CO with her son and his family where she lived until she became ill in 2013. She lived the remaining two years of her life in Lakewood, CO with her daughter and her husband. Evelyn was loved by many for her generosity, humility, hospitality, humor, and her pure, kindly, independent and radiant spirit, and especially for her homemade chocolate chip cookies, a.k.a “Grandma cookies”. She dedicated her life to serving the Baha'i Faith and her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. A graveside service with immediate family was held at Evergreen Memorial Park in Evergreen, CO on July 30, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of your choice in honor of her memory. O SON OF SPIRIT! With the joyful tidings of light I hail thee: rejoice! To the court of holiness I summon thee; abide therein that thou mayest live in peace for evermore. --Baha'u'llah
