Larry Dee Stapleton was born January 31, 1943, at Jane Chinn Hospital in Webb City, one of twin sons born to James Richard Stapleton and Viola Mae (Ryan) Stapleton.
Larry married Billye Greenlee on May 1, 1963, this marriage ended in divorce; and Janet Kay (Reed) White on December 20, 1983, she preceded him in death in 1995.
He retired as a Webb City police officer after 22 years of service, and was a member of Webb City Church of the Nazarene.
Larry Dee Stapleton, age 62, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2005, at 1:29 p.m. at a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was survived by two daughters, Debrah (Stapleton) Roush of Joplin, and Kathryn Marie (Stapleton) Riddle of Carthage; three brothers, Jack Stapleton of Joplin, David Stapleton Sr. of Joplin, and Jim Stapleton of Webb City; three sisters, Blenda (Stapleton) Asbell of Webb City, Cheryl (Stapleton) Choate of Joplin. and Carol (Stapleton) Farmer of Carl Junction; two grandchildren, Donna Jean Riddle and Kendra Rae Riddle.
Mr. Stapleton was preceded in death by his father in 1961; his mother in 1990; two brothers, Jessie James Richard Stapleton in 1955, and Larry's twin brother Jerry Lee Stapleton in 1943; and one grandson, Jason Eugene Wall.
