Craig S Mason, age 62, of Perry, passed away Sunday, January 10 at his home after a brief illness.
Born November 28, 1953 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Harry B and Stella Mason.
He grew up in Mentor Headlands and was in the class of 1972 at Mentor High School.
He was employed at Lincoln Electric in Euclid for 33 years, retiring seven years ago. His hobbies included garage sales, star gazing, nature and history, especially the Civil War era. He also enjoyed researching his family genealogy with his niece, Kim (Dennis) Wylie. Craig was an outstanding craftsman, taking pride and being very meticulous about his work. He would show his approval of someone's accomplishments by saying "good show!"
He is survived by his loving wife Anne (Zalar), daughters Kristine (Scott Fulmer) and Nicolette Mason, both of Mentor. Step daughters RaeAnn (Chris) Lyttle of Painesville, Stephanie (Tom) Wills of Perry and Lillian Zalar of Painesville, grandchildren Makinzie Holt, Sally Lyttle, Gunner and Benson Wills. He is also survived by a brother, Gerald (Lillian) Mason of Mentor, mother-in-law Velma Zalar of Fairport Harbor, brother-in-laws Stan (Martha) Zalar of Caldwell, Steve Zalar of Canal Fulton and sister-in-law Kathleen (John) Gasi of Madison. He also leaves his nephew Nicholas (Michelle) Mason and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Special friend Mitchell Spaid.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and infant brother.
Private services will be held and burial is in Perry Cemetery.
Potti Funeral Home at 1009 Mentor Avenue in Painesville is handling the arrangements.
