Rebecca Raley Goff, 96, of Pulaski, Va., and formerly of Williamsburg, Va., passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016. She was born in Camden, S.C., on January 18, 1920, to the late Lee A Raley and Bertha Marshall Raley. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Leonard Goff; two sisters, Evelyn Raley Rorer (husband, Ansel D Rorer), Mary Lee Raley Rabon (husband Hardy Rabon); a brother, Milton Raley (wife, Lorraine Evans Raley); and son-in-law, Charles Watson.Rebecca is survived by a sister, Jean Raley Massey (husband, Dr. Charles Massey), of Columbia, S.C.; daughter, Susan Goff Watson of Simpsonville, S.C.; son, Michael Leonard Goff (wife, Denise Keeter Goff); grandchildren, Lori Watson Ragsdale (Jay Ragsdale) of Athens, Ga., Matthew Watson (wife, Abby Covington Watson) of Appleton, Wis., Michael Goff, Jr. (wife, Vickey Higgins Goff) of Radford, Va., and Daniel Goff (wife, Stephanie Galyean Goff) of Hillsville, Va.; great-grandchildren, Michael Ragsdale, Marissa Ragsdale, Connor Watson, Gentry Watson, Eli Goff and Miles Goff. In addition, Rebecca has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were very close to her. She had a gentle love and a generous spirit and held friends and family close in her heart.Rebecca retired after many years as architectural librarian for Colonial Williamsburg. Leonard and Rebecca raised their family in Williamsburg where she lived from 1938 until 1988 when she moved to Pulaski. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski and was a volunteer at Pulaski Community Hospital for 20 years.The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Commonwealth Assisted Living where Rebecca lived for the past year, to Carilion Hospice, and to her many friends and members of the Methodist Church. An amazing woman, Rebecca lived on her own past age 94.A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 30. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. with the service at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski. Burial will be at Williamsburg Memorial Park in Williamsburg, Va., where Rebecca's husband and mother are buried. On Saturday, February 6, 2016, a graveside service will take place for immediate family and friends in that area.Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home.
