Marshall Ray Mitchell, 52, of Linville passed away Tuesday January 26, 2016 at Life Care Nursing Facility in Banner Elk, following a period of declining health.

Mr. Mitchell was born June 5, 1963 in Catawba County to Mrs. Emma Mitchell Punch and the late Glenn Ray Mitchell.

He worked in food service at Broughton and at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was a member at Mt. Home Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, video games, and drawing.

Survivors include his wife Michelle Mitchell of Linville; son Alex Ray Mitchell of Linville; mother Emma Mitchell Punch of Hickory; sister Maria Mitchell Dagenhart and husband Ron of Hickory; mother and father- in-law Jerry and Pat Mull; sister-in- law Jennifer Vance and husband John of Spruce Pine; nephews; Christian Mallatere, Adam Dagenhart, and Andrew Dagenhart; and niece Autumn Judd and husband Michael; and great niece Jasmine Judd.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday January 29, 2016 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service. Entombment will follow the service at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
