Jack Clark Doxey Jr., 79, of North Ogden passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from injuries sustained in a snowmobiling accident in Idaho.

Jack was born on November 28, 1936 in Ogden, the third child of seven and son of Jack Clark Doxey and Thelma Ford. Jack grew up in Ogden and attended Ogden City Schools, graduating from Ogden High School in 1954.

While in high school, he met the love of his life, Conna Johnson. They were married in 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Jack had a long and notable career as a builder and carpenter in the Ogden area. He worked on many large civil projects with M. Morrin and Son General Contractors as a foreman and superintendent. In 1976, Jack started his own contracting business in the North Ogden area. He was noted for his amazing workmanship and creativity, honesty and hard work.

Later in his career he joined Weber School District in the Maintenance Department, and was promoted to Supervisor. He retired from the Weber School District in 2001.

Jack and Conna raised 5 children in North Ogden, where they moved in 1960. His family was always his devotion and passion.

Jack loved the outdoors, and challenging physical pursuits. He took up competitive running in his 40’s and became an excellent runner, completing several marathons and numerous local 5 and 10k events. He continued this passion for physical fitness throughout his life. He also loved the water, and was an amazing water skier. His favorite thing was the large family vacations in his house boat at Lake Powell. He was also an avid skier and golfer in his retirement.

Jack was a faithful member of the LDS church, filling many callings in various wards in North Ogden.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Conna; his parents; and his brothers, Clark and Lee.

He is survived by his wife, RoseMarie Rosen; his five children: Michael (Ronda) Doxey, of Houston, TX, Cynthia (Bruce) Harding, of Twin Falls, ID, Linnae (Clint) Peterson, of Layton, Cammy (Dave) Ward, of North Ogden, and Shelly (Ryan) Harris, of North Ogden; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Dad lived a wonderful life of hard work, devotion, service, accomplishment and fun. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden 4th Ward Chapel, 3350 North 1050 East. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the LDS Church Missionary fund.
