Clyde-Stephen Floyd Caldwell, 65, died on Thursday, December 17, 2015. Stephen was born in Haywood County on September 27, 1950, to the late Henry Rufus Caldwell and to Anna Jo "Jo" Miller Donaldson. Stephen enjoyed camping, bowling, golfing, and working in his yard. He was a loyal Tennessee Vols fan who enjoyed watching all types of sports. Most of all Stephen loved spending time outside with his loving family.
In addition to his father, Stephen was preceded in death by his step-father, Clarence Donaldson.
In addition to his mother, Stephen is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debra Caldwell; a son, Ben Caldwell (Susan) and grandsons Matthew and Elijah; a daughter, Hailey Collins (Jonathan) and granddaughter, Siara.
A memorial service celebrating Stephen's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, December 21, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations. The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clyde Fire Department at PO Box 552, Clyde, NC 28721.
