Hubert Lee Robinson, 78, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at his home. He was born in Mercer County to the late Roy B. and Verna Mae Currens Robinson. He was retired from General Cable after 15 years of service; a member of Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church; and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Shirley Carter Robinson; one daughter, Bonita Robinson Redding, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two sons, Anthony (Teresa) Robinson, and Barry (Victoria) Robinson, both of Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren, Jason (Kasey) Briscoe, Chad (Carolyn) Robinson, Toni (Ronnie) Miller, Christopher Robinson, and Jeremiah Robinson, all of Lawrenceburg, Wayne (April) Briscoe, Frankfort; 10 great-grandchildren, Katie, Madison, Carter, Makenna and Karington Briscoe, Tyler and Laura Miller, Conner, Daniel, and Anna Fay Robinson; two sisters, Elberta Sea, Lawrenceburg, Evelyn (Jess) McGee, Louisville; two brothers, Randall (Dolly) Robinson and L. H. (Wanda) Robinson, Lawrenceburg; two sisters-in-law, Martha Robinson, Lawrenceburg, Verna Robinson, Burgin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Adelene Keightley, two brothers, Eugene and J.D. Robinson.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 11, at the Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
