Richfield, Utah - Our kind and loving husband, father, grandpa and brother, David Jay Nielson, age 66, of Richfield, passed away January 26, 2016 in Provo, Utah. He was born March 25, 1949 in Richfield, a son of Phillip Ray and Doris Renee Shaw Nielson. He graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1967. He went on and got his Associate Degree in Drafting at the Sevier Valley Trade Tech.

Dave married the love of his life, Trudie Kae Zabriskie, August 30, 1968 in Richfield.
Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling, but most of all, playing with his grandson. He was a member of the LDS Church. Dave worked as a mechanic at Mason Machinery in Aurora.

He is survived by his wife, Trudie, of Richfield; his son: Matthew and Samantha Nielson, and their son, Rylan, all of Richfield; a sister: Pam and Roger Orton of Richfield; two sisters-in-law: Debra and Doug Heideman of Hurricane; Vanetta and Vance Brinkerhoff of Torrey; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Renee Nielson; his mother and father-in-law: Mayo and Helen Zabriskie; a sister-in-law: Orla Gae Zabriskie, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be no formal funeral services, but friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening, February 2, 2016 from 6 to 8 P.M.

Burial will take place at a later date in the Widstoe Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
