Funeral services for Betty Lois Starrett Story, age 87, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Anthony Story officiating. Interment will follow at Reilly Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Story passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Carriage House Manor. She retired from Texas Instruments in 1989 and was a member of the Hopkins County Republican Women's Association.
She was born on July 4, 1928, the daughter of Carl and Eula Mae (Ponder) Starrett. She married R.D. Story, who preceded her in death in September 1972.
Survivors include daughter JoAnn Berry and husband, Dale, of Barstow, Calif.; sons Ronnie D. Story of Dallas and Dana Story and wife, Annette, of Duncanville; brothers Frank Starrett of Yantis and Benny Starrett and wife, Willie, of Mesquite; sister Melba Vaughn of Sulphur Springs; grandson Jeffrey Berry and wife, Lezlee, of Royse City; granddaughter Shannon Berry of Barstow; great-grandchildren Madilyn Berry, Lawton Berry, Marshal Berry, Mason Berry and Miles Berry. And her little dog, Wendy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Eula Starrett; husband R.D. Story; and brother Carl "Rass" Starrett.
